In line with the Saudi Vision 2030, the Saudi Ministry of Interior continues to implement the Makkah Route Initiative for its sixth year, a key component of the Pilgrim Experience Program, Wego reports. This initiative extends dedicated services at 11 airports across seven countries: Morocco, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Turkiye, and Côte d’Ivoire.

The Makkah Route Initiative is designed to provide seamless transportation services for pilgrims from beneficiary countries to Saudi Arabia. Services include assisting pilgrims with their travel arrangements in their own countries, issuing electronic Hajj visas, collecting biometrics, and managing all travel-related processes at departure airports under the oversight of the General Directorate of Passports.

The initiative ensures compliance with health requirements, organizes luggage, and arranges transportation and accommodation within Saudi Arabia. Pilgrims are then efficiently transported to their residences in Makkah and Madinah via dedicated routes, with partner agencies managing the transportation of their belongings.

This initiative is a testament to Saudi Arabia’s commitment to enhancing the pilgrimage experience, reflecting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. By streamlining the process and ensuring a smooth journey for the pilgrims, the Makkah Route Initiative continues to contribute significantly to the success of the annual Hajj pilgrimage. This initiative underscores Saudi Arabia’s dedication to improving the Hajj experience for pilgrims worldwide.
