"The North American International Auto Show made for an exciting start to the year, and it was especially memorable for us as we debuted two all-new products that signify critical new directions for our Honda and Acura brands – the 2019 Honda Insight and 2019 Acura RDX prototypes.
Of course, we were thrilled to take home North American Car of the Year honors for the 2018 Honda Accord. Over the past four years we have invested tremendous effort in creating what we believe is the best and most competitive product lineup in the history of the Honda brand. As a result, Honda reached a record number of customers in 2017 for the fourth straight year, and won a North American Car or Truck of the Year award for the third straight year. I want to again express our appreciation to the NACOY jurors for honoring Accord, which recognizes the passion and commitment demonstrated by our associates in creating these products for our customers.
We look forward to the year ahead, including the launch of the production Insight, which reflects our approach to deliver mainstream, electrified vehicles that people will want to drive, and the Acura RDX, the first in a new generation of products that delivers on Acura’s Precision Crafted Performance brand direction.
